Ingredients

¾ cup butter
1 ½ cups packed brown sugar
4 eggs
4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup candied pineapple
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Combine melted butter and brown sugar in large mixer bowl, blend well. Add eggs, beat well.

  2. Melt chocolate in top of a double boiler over hot (not boiling) water, add to egg-sugar mixture.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon, gradually add to chocolate mixture. Stir in candied pineapple, raisins and nuts.

  4. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 8-10 minutes or until almost set. Cool slightly on cookie sheet. Remove from cookie sheet, cool on wire rack.
