Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour, unsifted
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)
2 cups Ghirardelli® Bittersweet 60% Cacao Baking Chips

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. Stir flour with baking soda and salt, set aside.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter with both sugars at medium speed until creamy and lightened in color.

  4. Add eggs and vanilla, one at a time. Mix on low speed until incorporated.

  5. Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.

  6. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until chocolate chip cookies are golden brown.
